Physical Education

OVERVIEW

Our PE department offers a wide range of sports and activities and encourages all pupils to try these, to improve their physical, social and mental wellbeing to inspire a lifelong learning in sport.
The sports of athletics, cross-country, football, hockey, roller hockey and rugby are the extra-curricular activities, where we participate in competitive matches against other schools. Have a look at the extra-curricular section of the website for more details of these clubs.
House matches are held at the end of every unit of work for the various activities, where you represent your House, either Bignian, Donard or Eagle. Points for their matches are added to the Standard Points accumulated throughout the year, climaxing on Sports’ Day, when the House Championship Cup and Attainments’ Shield are awarded.
