The annual school musical is a highlight of the year for both the school and the local community. The show is performed each year for four nights and there are also two afternoon performances for our students and invited guests from local primary and post-primary schools.
Each show involves between 60 and 70 students on stage; most of these are seniors although some shows do involves junior students. There are also many students and members of staff involved backstage in areas such as set construction and painting, make-up, costumes, props, lighting, sound, front of house and refreshments.
The first musical was performed in 1973, under the direction of Mr Cunningham, then Head of English and later school Principal. Mr. Cunningham went on to direct 42 musicals at Kilkeel High School, an amazing achievement.
The musical is now produced by Mr Kincaid (Musical director), Ms Holmes, Mrs Grattan and Miss Annett.
