Variety concert fundraiser for Boys’ and Girls’ Hockey Tour to South Africa

On Wednesday 13th December, Kilkeel HS had a variety concert to raise funds for their Boys’ and Girls’ 1stx1 Hockey Tour to South Africa in August 2024.

There were two performances, one to the school on Wednesday afternoon and to the general public on Wednesday evening.

There were singers, musicians and dancers showcasing the talented staff and pupils of Kilkeel High School.

The singers were Oliver Chestnutt, Jacob Blue and Jeremiah Aguirre and past pupil Alex Annett who came to perform at the evening performance.

The Highland dancers had 3 different reels and there was a Year 9 Gymnastics’ display by some of our pupils.

The school choir and orchestra group also performed a few Christmas songs and there were musical performances on the accordions, bagpipes and drums from Jack Coffey, Aaron Morris, Mr Hamilton, Mrs Grattan and Mr Morris.

The last act was an upbeat and entertaining lip sync battle between the Boys’ and Girls’ hockey teams and it brought a very successful evening to a close.

A sum of £1600 was raised and so thank you to everyone who made the event possible, the acts, the pupils, parents and friends who attended the event. We would also like to thank the staff for putting the show together and the staff and parents who helped provide refreshments during the interval.
