Wednesday 5th March was the date chosen for the long-awaited official opening of our brand-new Upper 6th Hub. Maghera Developments started work over the summer holidays and very quickly completed the purpose-built facility comprising of a fitted kitchen area, a comfortable social space, their very own toilets and, most importantly, the designated study area. The occasion was made even more special by the presence of the previous Heads of 6th form, Mrs Brown and Miss Taylor, and the Key Stage 5 coordinator, Mr Harris. Mrs Fry had the pleasure of cutting the ribbon held by the Head Boy, Daniel Chestnutt and Head Girl, Grace McBride. After the Principal’s speech, a celebratory cup of tea was served while the invited guests and governors shared their memories and discussed the future plans for our ever-growing 6th form.Â
