Ulster-Scots Fishing & Farming Language Book

Before Covid-19, Year 8 pupils in KHS helped gather information to produce a book which focused on the Ulster-Scots language, particularly associated with fishing and farming in Mourne.

These pupils are now Year 11 and on Wednesday 23rd November, James Donaldson from the Schomberg Society in Kilkeel presented the finished version of the book to every Year 11 pupil. James also spoke to some pupils about the importance and use of Ulster-Scots in our everyday language.

The book has also been distributed to other local schools, libraries and community facilities. We would like to thank James for his visit to KHS!
