Congratulations to the U16 Boys football team who have reached the final of the South Down cup with a resounding victory on Tuesday morning at Bignian Park.
Kilkeel started brightly and took the lead when Nathan found the back of the net first. The lead was soon doubled when Daniel rocketed one into the top corner. Nathan then doubled his tally when he finished with a powerful shot into the bottom corner.
Newry dug deep and got themselves back into the game when they capitalised on mistakes at the back. Joshua then restored a two goal cushion when he finished smartly from range. Into the second half and Nathan completed his hattrick with a well taken free kick. Harvey then added number six with a good finish across the keeper before Newry pulled another goal back. Rhys finished off the scoring with another rocket shot into the top corner.
Well done to all the boys and Mr Haugh as they progress onto the final.
