Students in Years 10 and 11 at Kilkeel High School recently took part in the UKMT Intermediate Maths Challenge, a national competition designed to encourage mathematical reasoning, problem-solving and logical thinking.
Our pupils performed exceptionally well, achieving a strong set of results that included four Bronze certificates, six Silver certificates and one Gold certificate. These outcomes reflect the hard work, commitment and enthusiasm shown by the students in their Maths studies.
A special mention goes to William, who was awarded the school’s Gold certificate and subsequently progressed to the next stage of the competition, the Pink Kangaroo Round. William continued his impressive performance, earning a Gold Kangaroo certificate and placing within the top 10% of participants nationally—an outstanding achievement.
The school is extremely proud of all pupils who took part in the challenge. Their success highlights both their individual talents and the strength of Mathematics within the school.
