Last week some of our pupils from Hospitality and Leisure and Tourism were invited to attend The Hospitality Takeover event organised by Springboard Careerscope and hosted by the Slieve Donard Hotel. This was an exciting and eventful day with so much for pupils to take part in!
Pupils took part in taste testing with SERC , Virtual reality tours of Northern Ireland with TourismNI, event planning with Newry, Mourne & Down District council and mocktail making workshop. They listened to the insights and advice of industry professionals such as entrepreneur Shane Neary, local celebrity chef Paul Cunningham, previous restaurant manager at the Galgorm and springboard delivery manager Richard McGowan and executive Head Chef at The Slieve Donard Resort Hazel Magill.
