On Friday 14th March, Kilkeel High School held their Spring Concert and Dessert Night, showcasing the vast array of talent amongst the pupils and staff. The evening was to raise money for Daisy Lodge and Friends of KHS. From dancing, drumming, singing and cheerleading, the audience were kept entertained all night. Acts included dancers from the Kirknarra School of Dance and the Rowan Dance Academy, the drum corps of Pride of Ballinran and Mourne Young Defenders, drum-kit students of Stefan Downey, the school choir and orchestra, talented pianists and singers and many more. On the night, Kilkeel High School launched their ‘Friends of KHS’ Instagram page which the hope will connect past pupils and create an alumni. Past pupil, Emma O’Brien compered the evening and took to the stage herself to perform, ‘I’m Not That Girl’ from the musical, ‘Wicked’. A total of £2400 was raised for the charities.
