On Monday two mixed, Year 9 teams competed in the Northern Ireland Mixed Football Tournament at Mallusk ran by the IFA. All boys and girls in both teams performed superbly to make it to the Quarter-Final stage with one team unbeaten in their six group games. One of our teams then made it through to the Semi-Finals where they came up against a very strong Glengormly team. A 0-0 result took the game to penalties where our players bravely stepped up and our keeper Jake made two incredible saves. The final penalty was slotted in by captain Jay who played outstanding throughout the tournament. This then took us on to the final against St. Pauls. where Kilkeel fought for absolutely everything and came out victorious with a 2-1 win, goals coming from Daniel and Rhys who were both on top form throughout the day. Special mention to Daniel who scored an amazing 16 goals in total on the day, Jay who led the team throughout and Jack and Jamie for their wonder strikes! All players did us proud and again put Kilkeel on the map for top footballing skills! Well done everyone!
