NI Final of the Soroptimist International Public Speaking Competition

Well done to Joanna who represented our school at the Northern Ireland final of the Soroptimist International Public Speaking Competition in Royal Hillsborough on Saturday. Joanna competed against 12 girls from schools across Northern Ireland in what is regarded as one of the most prestigious public speaking competitions in the country. Joanna was awarded first place in the local heat in November 2022 for her speech, ‘How do values-based politics better shape global society?’ which she also delivered at Saturday’s final. Although Joanna did not win the final, she nevertheless made a great impression on the organisers and the audience members. We are incredibly proud of her! Joanna is pictured with adjudicator and Soroptimist International President, Maureen Maguire, and the Soroptimist NI Regional President, Barbara Carlise.
