The pupils within the Food and Nutrition class, in Kilkeel High School, recently visited NearyNogs Chocolate Factory in Kilkeel. This is Northern Ireland’s first bean to bar craft chocolate makers and the oldest in Ireland. NearyNogs chocolate is small batch crafted on the Mourne Coast and is family run by a small community of workers. It has breathtaking views of the Irish Sea, Carlingford Lough & the Mourne Mountains. They ethically source sustainable cacao beans to produce a range of chocolate and chocolate products which the pupils were able to sample on purchase on the day of the visit.
