Kindness post-box – Sixth form Health & Social Care pupils

Pupils in Year 13 and 14 participated in kindness week at a community level by writing a short letter to local care home residents. Pupils spent some time on Friday 11th November during their Health and Social Care lesson writing to a local elderly community member. These letters were delivered by Mrs Simms to local care homes in Kilkeel along with a small fruit hamper gift.

The kindness post-box initiative was established during lockdown. It is a community focused project based on the idea of bringing little bursts of happiness to those most isolated and affected by lockdowns and separation from loved ones. The project started in Enniskillen to give local care home residents something to smile about but has since spread across Northern Ireland. KHS pupils were delighted to participate and spread some kindness in their local community.

Many thanks to Hughes Fresh Foods, Rathfriland, for kindly making up the lovely fruit hampers for residents to enjoy.
