Inclusion and Diversity Week in KHS

Inclusion and Diversity Week is coming to an end, though the sentiments of respect for all should last a lifetime!
In Home Economics this week, KS3 have been studying foods from around the world and home and family life.  They examined cultural differences, learned beliefs and behaviours, food preferences, managing stress and conflict.
In Science, Year 10 studied genetics and looked at how similar humans actually are: regardless of race, humans share approximately 99.9% of their genetic code with one another!  Pupils also studied the variety of human life across all stages, touching on proposed euthanasia laws in the UK.
In RS, students looked at the importance of respect in romantic relationships.
The English Department spent time studying various poems on the themes of disability, poverty and refugees.  Students also analysed a ‘Diversity in Sport’ campaign.
