DKMS Inspires Sixth Form Students to Consider Life-Saving Stem Cell Donation

On Tuesday 13th October, DKMS visited school to inform our 6th form pupils about the work they do to help fight various blood cancers. As part of their new Generation Lifesaver programme, any pupils aged 16 or over are eligible to register as a donor. We were absolutely delighted that 71 pupils volunteered to join the register. The charity has a very special place in the heart of KHS as Mrs Campbell, our Maths teacher, was a donor for a cancer patient in France after joining the register in 2019. Her nephew, past pupil Robin Calvert, has also received a Stem Cell Transplant from a total stranger who had joined the Anthony Nolan register. We will be running a fundraising event for the charity later in the year. If you would like to register, check out the DKMS website.
