For the past two years, we were working on developing school-to-school partnerships with 2 schools in Germany – one in Hanover and the other in Bavaria. In June 2023, we welcomed pupils from Hanover and this very week pupils from KHS involved in the Hanover partnership, are currently in Germany.
Last week, we were delighted to host pupils from Albrecht-Ernst-Gymnasium, Oettingen in Bavaria. The German pupils were partnered with pupils from Kilkeel High School and the week was spent getting to know one another during the various activities which occurred throughout the week.
Our visitors had the opportunity to spend some time in subject classes with their KHS partners, visit the Titanic quarter, the murals in Belfast, Hillsborough Castle, Tollymore, Kilkeel etc.
We were delighted that pupils from both schools enjoyed getting to know one another, and we now look forward to December, when our pupils will travel to Bavaria to visit their partner school.
