Christmas Coffee Morning 2015

christmas-coffee

Once again Kilkeel High School hopes to support a local charity this Christmas Season.  Located in Newry, Southern Area Hospice Services (SAHS) provides invaluable support and care to people who are suffering from Cancer, Multiple Sclerosis, Motor Neurone Disease and other terminal illnesses living within the Southern Health Board Area.

We plan to raise funds for the Hospice by hosting a Coffee Morning and Cake Sale in our Assembly Hall on Wednesday, 16th December from 10.00am until 12.30pm.
You can support this venture in several ways –
• Donations of scones, cakes and tray bakes can be left in the General Office on Wednesday morning before 9.30am.
• Donations of good quality used toys, books, CDs, DVDs etc can be left in the General Office any time up until Wednesday, 16th December.
• Donations of wrapped gifts (approximate value 50p) for a bran tub can be left in the General Office any time before 9.15am on Wednesday 16th December.
• Most importantly come along and bring your friends.

As well as the usual refreshments there will be craft activities, a chocolate fountain, second hand stalls and musical performances by our pupils.  The event has proven in the past to be a most enjoyable one and we would love to see you here.

Subway - Study Hard, Eat Fresh!

subway promo

Kilkeel High School, in partnership with Subway (Kilkeel) are encouraging Year 12 students to 'Study Hard, Eat Fresh!' In a new scheme, introduced in November, Year 12 students, currently preparing for their GCSE examinations have the opportunity to earn achievement points in each of their classes. They can earn points for an impressive piece of work, showing good manners, helping other students and so on. Points can also be lost for not submitting a homework, arriving late to class etc. Each week during Year assemblies a league table of where each class stands, along with their points total is announced. Selected students are then awarded with a 'free lunch' in the form of a Subway Voucher. Pictured are Gary Chambers, Andrew Barber and Adam Hanna along with Subway owner Danielle Hamilton. The boys were the first recipients of the vouchers and wasted no time in using them!
