On Thursday 5th January one of our former students Andrew Stewart came to visit us in the LSC.  Andrew came to talk to our Year 12s about the opportunities available to them when they leave school. Currently Andrew is in his third year in SRC studying catering.  He hopes to eventually go to work in a high end restaurant. We are so proud of Andrew and all our past students' achievements!

On Wednesday 11th January pupils and staff from KHS travelled to the Crown Plaza Hotel in Belfast to attend the Action MS Thank You Luncheon. All pupils invited had raised a minimum of £100. Missing from the photo are Bryson Kearney and Morgan McKee who were unable to attend.  Many thanks to all pupils who continue to give to this very worthy cause.

Robyn Elliott who is currently a lower sixth pupil in Kilkeel High School, has been selected for the ‘True Colours’ exhibition of GCSE work, in The Ulster Museum, Belfast which opened last night. Charley Hanna attended the Tri-Inter-School Show-jumping League at the Meadows Equestrian Centre, Lurgan on Saturday 10th December to compete her two horses in the Novice Individual. The lovely smells coming from Room 29 on Thursday proved that the students in the LSC could rival Mary Berry! We spent the day baking a range of treats for the school Coffee Morning in aid of the Southern Area Hospice. All students worked so hard and really put a lot of effort into their baking skills. On Tuesday 13th December we headed for the bright lights of Belfast with all students in the LSC. We visited the Christmas Markets and had the opportunity to sample some of the delicious foods there; we were then able to go inside the City Hall and see the beautiful tree and all the splendour there.
