Controlled Assessment Plans - Years 11/12

controlled assessment

Controlled Assessment is a very important part of most of the current GCSE subjects taught in Kilkeel High School (it can be worth anything from 15-60% of the final grade). It is essential that all students complete their Controlled Assessment tasks to the highest possible standard.

The document available in our Parents' Section provides an outline of dates when pupils will be working on Controlled Assessment tasks. We suggest that you download and print the document to help your child remember when Controlled Assessment tasks are scheduled. Note that some tasks are completed in Year 11 and some in Year 12.

Please encourage your child to attend class, to focus in class and to produce the highest possible standard of Controlled Assessment – it will be worth it!

Internet Safety Evening

online safety

Kilkeel High School prides itself on providing a safe learning environment for all of its pupils. An emerging national concern is the inappropriate use and effects of the Internet on pupils.

Increased negative behaviour, misuse of electronic technology, cyber-bullying, over-use of time for social networking / online gaming and minimal time dedicated to academic studies....are all difficulties we are encountering in schools across N. Ireland.

We would therefore like to invite Parents/Guardians of Kilkeel high School pupils to a meeting to discuss these issues. It will be held in Kilkeel High School on Tuesday 7th October from 7-8.15pm (inc. hospitality)

We would encourage you to attend this vital event as we seek to work together in the best interests of your child (children).

Please not you are most welcome to view our new Music and Art suites directly after this meeting.
