Year 8's get a tasty treat!

Lily Cupcake

Over the past week Year 8's have taken part in cupcake demonstrations by Lilly Cupcake. This is a local cake and cupcake making company based at the Nautilus Centre, Kilkeel. Linda Hamilton kindly represented the company over a few days in Kilkeel High School and demonstrated the art of cupcake making to our Year 8’s, she was hoping to inspire them to prepare well for their Easter assessed practical in Home Economics, which is based on cupcake making. Big Book Swap 2015

national book day

National Book Day is on the 5th of March 2015 and to celebrate this KHS are holding a “BIG BOOK SWAP”. The details are below:

  • Pupils and staff bring into school any books from home which they no longer want. For every book you bring in you will receive 1 token.
  • Books will be organised in the Assembly Hall into categories.
  • On 5th March pupils and staff will be able to swap their tokens for books of their choice from the large selection in the Assembly Hall.
  • If any books remain at the end of the swap they will be sold for a small fee to anyone who would like them (proceeds to charity).

So get clearing those cupboards ad bookshelves!
