School is a place where pupils and parents can find emotional support. Over the holidays we want to be sure that everyone who needs it, has access to services that he/she may require. Lifeline is the NI crisis response helpline service for people who are experiencing distress or despair. No matter what your age or where you live in NI, if you or someone you know is in distress or despair, Lifeline can be contacted on 0808 808 8000.
As a parent, if you are concerned about a crisis mental health situation, you can take your young person to A&E or can speak to your local GP for advice in the first instance.
If your young person is awaiting an appointment with CAMHS and his/her mental health worsens whilst on the CAMHS waiting list, you should phone your local CAMHS Team and speak to them about this.
