All three separate subjects taken together at Key Stage 4 represent a balanced science course, and this is the best foundation for the further study of these subjects at Advanced Level.
The content of the syllabus is set out in 4 sections; atomic structure and bonding, patterns and classification, chemical reactions and reactivity and chemistry of the elements and their compounds.
Due to the Chemistry content in the 'A' level Biology course, pupils who wish to study 'A' level Biology are strongly recommended to study GCSE Chemistry along with their GCSE Biology.
