What is a BTEC Level 3 Certificate in Sport qualification?

The Edexcel BTEC Level 3 Certificate in Sport is a 30-credit and 180-guided-learning-hour (GLH) qualification that consists of three mandatory units plus optional units. Successful completion of the Certificate course leads to a qualification that is the equivalent of 1 AS-level. Learners must complete and pass all the units below to be awarded the qualification.

Mandatory Units:

Unit 1: Principles of Anatomy and Physiology in Sport

Unit 2: The Physiology of Fitness

Unit 3: Assessing Risk in Sport

Optional Unit:

Unit 7: Fitness Testing for Sport and Exercise

 

What is a BTEC National qualification?

BTEC Nationals are designed as specialist qualifications for students who have a clear view of their future career or are seeking progression to higher education. BTEC Nationals are equivalent to A levels and are highly valued by universities, further education colleges and employers alike. There are more than 250 qualifications for students to choose from.
