AQA Level 3 Extended Certificate in Applied Business
The AQA Level 3 Extended Certificate in Applied Business will give learners the opportunity to learn and understand a broad range of business and entrepreneurial knowledge and skills associated with working within a business enterprise. This course encourages candidates to develop skills, knowledge and understanding in realistic business contexts. It gives them an opportunity to focus on the different aspects of business e.g. Marketing, Finance, Human Resources and Administration. Pupils are given the opportunity to apply their knowledge to case studies throughout their 2 years of study as well as develop their own entrepreneurial skills and identify ways in which businesses deliver operationally upon their committments.
The following units will be studied at AS level.
Unit 1 Financial Planning and Analysis (External Exam)
Unit 2 Business Dynamics (Internal Portfolio)
Unit 3 Entrepreneurial Opportunities (External Portfolio)
The following units will be studied at A2 level.
Unit 4 Managing & Leading People (External exam)
Unit 5 Developing a Business Proposal (Internal Portfolio)
Unit 7 Managing an Event (Internal Portfolio)
The qualification allows for a number of progression routes:
Higher Education: the Extended Certificate award provides a sound basis for progression to a range of HE courses, eg BA degrees in business subjects and HNDs.
Employment: the award aims to maintain and support the recognised standards demanded for Applied Business education and training in order to meet the requirements of various business sectors.
